ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud is a cloud document capture solution that is based on ABBYY FlexiCapture Distributed Edition. It is hosted in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment. ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud uses ABBYY’s Content IQ technology to classify documents by type and extract data for further processing in document management systems. ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud allows customers to use all the core features of ABBYY FlexiCapture Distributed Edition and access all necessary solutions without the need to create and maintain their own software infrastructure.

ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud architecture

The FlexiCapture Processing Cluster runs in the Microsoft Azure cloud. The REST API Portal, the Admin and Monitoring Console, and the Web Stations are also hosted in Azure and connect to the Processing Cluster. Local stations run on-premise and connect to the Processing Cluster directly.

ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud features and limitations

ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud offers all the core features of ABBYY FlexiCapture Distributed and also provides a REST API for integrating data capture functionality into third-party systems. ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud supports the following import options: IMAP, FTP/SFTP, Scanning Station, SOAP API, and ABBYY FlexiCapture Connect. Import via POP3 is not supported. To import documents from and export documents to local network folders or on-premise server folders, use ABBYY FlexiCapture Connect. For more information, see ABBYY FlexiCapture Connect. ABBYY FlexiCapture Cloud also has these limitations:
  • Customers cannot install or use third-party components or services on Processing Stations.
  • Customers cannot access the Processing Server Monitor.
