After you create a new batch and add documents to it, the batch opens for editing so you can process the images before submitting it for recognition. You can also reopen a batch for editing from the list of active batches on the station’s main page (the main scanning page on the Web Capture Station, or the Batch view on the Web Scanning Station).

Form and submit a batch

Add pages

Add all required pages and place them in order. If necessary, enhance the images and flip pages.

Form documents

Form documents, if it was not done automatically.

Send the batch

Send the batch to the server.
If documents are formed in the Web Capture Station or the Web Scanning Station, they are preserved during later processing. If the documents are not formed in the sent batch, the server forms them automatically according to the settings specified in the import or recognition stage.

The window contains three panels:
When you first enter the web station, the window shows only the Thumbnails view. The two other panels are collapsed in the top-right toolbar. The web station remembers the layout of the panels when you close it.

Thumbnails view

Work on images and create documents:
  • Scan button Scan. Opens the dialog for scanning images and configuring scanner settings.
  • Open button Open. Adds images from a folder.
  • Collapse all button Collapse all. Collapses the page thumbnails and moves to the list of documents.
  • Create Document button Create Document. Creates a document from the selected pages.
  • Enhance button Enhance. Adjusts an image:
    • Convert To Black&White. Converts an image to black and white.
    • Invert Colors. Inverts the colors and brightness of the image.
    • Despeckle. Cleans the image.
    • Deskew. Adjusts image skew vertically.
  • Rotate button Rotate. Rotates the image:
    • Flip Vertical / Horizontal. Flips the image vertically or horizontally.
    • Rotate 90° Clockwise / Counter-Clockwise. Rotates the image 90° clockwise or counter-clockwise.
    • Rotate 180°. Rotates the image 180°.
  • Back to the source image button Back to the source image. Cancels all changes and reverts the image to the source scanned or uploaded image.
  • Merge button Merge. Merges several selected documents.
  • Delete button Delete. Deletes the selected page or document.

Document view

View the scanned or uploaded image:
  • Crop. Crops the image.
  • Redact. Blacks out specific data on the image.

Add pages

Select a page

On the thumbnail pane, select the page after which new pages must be added: move the mouse over the page image and click the left mouse button.

Choose the source

Depending on the source, click Add from scanner (to add pages from a scanner) or Add from folder (to add page images from image files).
To change scanning options, select Scan → Scanner options on the main toolbar and specify the required settings.

Add the pages

Depending on the selected method, scan paper documents or specify the path to the files.

View a page

Select the page

Select the page in the thumbnails pane by left-clicking its thumbnail. The page image is displayed in the middle of the screen. If the page is not visible, click the Page view button button on the toolbar in the top-right corner of the page.

Adjust the scale

To change the page image scale, use the Scale slider on the toolbar.

Select multiple pages

You can select one page or several pages at the same time for these operations. Use one of the following ways to select more than one page on the thumbnails pane:
  • To select multiple consecutive pages, click the first page, press and hold the Shift key, and then select the last page.
  • To select multiple pages with the mouse, hold down the Ctrl key. To unselect some of the selected pages, hold down the Ctrl key and click the pages that you want to unselect.
  • To select all document pages, move the mouse over the vertical ellipsis to the right of the document name on the thumbnails pane, and select Select all pages in the document menu.

Delete pages

To delete pages, select one or more pages as described earlier and click the Delete button button on the top toolbar.

Drag the selection

Click the selection and, holding the left mouse button, move the cursor to where the pages should be moved.
When you move multiple non-consecutive pages, any unselected pages between the selected ones are not moved. The order of the pages that you move is preserved.

Choose the rotation angle

Click Rotate button on the top toolbar and select the rotation angle.

Wait for completion

Wait until the operation is completed.

Work with documents

Create a document

To create a document, select one or more consecutive pages and click the Create Document button button on the main toolbar.

View document registration parameters

Select the document by moving the mouse over its name and clicking the left mouse button. Information about the document registration parameters is displayed on the Parameters pane on the right side of the page, in the section whose name matches the document name. If the pane is not visible, click Parameters panel button on the right-hand toolbar.
If registration parameters for the document are not specified, the corresponding section remains blank. You cannot create new registration parameters or delete existing ones. To add new parameters, change the Batch type properties and form the batch anew.

Select multiple documents

You can select one or several documents at the same time for these actions. Select several documents in the following ways:
  • To select consecutive documents, select the first one by hovering over it and pressing the left mouse button and the Shift key, and then selecting the last document.
  • To select several non-consecutive documents, select them with the mouse while holding the Ctrl key. You can also cancel the selection of individual documents. For example, select documents one to ten (as described earlier) and cancel the selection of the third, sixth, and ninth document by holding the Ctrl key.

Merge documents

To merge several documents into one, select them as described earlier and click Merge button on the top toolbar.

Split documents

Enter split mode

Switch to document split mode by clicking Split button.

Split the document

Place the mouse pointer between the page thumbnails where you want to split the document, and use the separator to split the document in two.

Exit split mode

To quit document split mode, click Split button once again.

Delete documents

To delete one or more documents, select them as described earlier and click Delete button on the top toolbar.

Work with the batch

Send the batch to the server

To send the batch to the server, click the Send batch button button on the task toolbar.
If errors occur while sending the batch for recognition, you can send it later. When you re-send the batch, the already-sent pages are not sent again. However, if the image of any sent page is changed, that page and all subsequent pages are re-sent to the server.

View batch registration parameters

Open the parameter panel

If the parameter panel is hidden, open it by clicking Parameters panel button on the right panel.

Select the batch

Select Batch in the Parameters section of the top panel.
If registration parameters for the batch are not specified, the corresponding section remains blank. You cannot create new registration parameters or delete existing ones. To create new parameters, change the Batch type properties.

Save the batch for further processing

Postpone the batch

Click the Close batch button button on the task toolbar. The station’s main page opens.

Resume when ready

The batch is displayed in the list with the Postponed status. You can return to processing and sending the batch later.
