A Web Station Operator can configure scanning parameters before adding images from a scanner to a batch. Scanning options are specified (Web Capture) on the Create a batch and submit it for recognition page. (Web Scanning) in the Scanning Options dialog box. To open the dialog box, choose Scanner options in the scanning menu in the top-left corner of the Create a batch and submit it for recognition or Rescan tasks page, or select Add from scanner on the main page. The Scanning tab of the Batch Type Settings window uses a similar interface.

Select the scanner

Select a connected scanner from the Name list. To configure scanning parameters, use the interface of the selected scanner.
Software supplied with a scanner may allow a user to compress images. Avoid compression algorithms that lower image quality, because they can affect the recognition process.

Set the pre-scan option

If you need to change settings before scanning (Web Scanning) a new batch, select Show settings before scanning.

Open the scanner settings

To configure scanning settings, click the Scanning Settings… button. Depending on the selected scanner type, a native scanner settings dialog box opens. For additional information, refer to your scanner’s documentation.
