To open the Scanning Options dialog box, do one of the following:
- In the top-left corner of the Create a batch and submit it for recognition or Rescan tasks page, choose Scanner options in the scanning menu.
- On the main page, select Add from scanner.

Select the scanner
Select a connected scanner from the Name list. To configure scanning parameters, use the interface of the selected scanner.
Software supplied with a scanner may allow a user to compress images. Avoid compression algorithms that lower image quality, because they can affect the recognition process.

Set the pre-scan option
If you need to change settings before scanning, select Show settings before scanning. On the Web Scanning Station, this option applies when you scan a new batch.

Open the scanner settings
To configure scanning settings, click the Scanning Settings… button. Depending on the selected scanner type, a native scanner settings dialog box opens. For more information, see your scanner’s documentation.
