Rescanning is required if some documents cannot be processed. In this case, a Verification Operator sends them to the Scanning Operator for rescanning. Such tasks appear at the top of the Batches view. To see the list of rescanning tasks, select Rescan Tasks in the List. The list shows each task’s name and priority, its status (Unprocessed task or Postponed), and the date and time the task was created. To start processing a rescanning task, click the link with the task name.

Process a rescanning task

1

Get the task

Select the task from the list on the station’s main page.
2

Add missing pages

If necessary, add missing pages from a scanner or from image files.
3

Send the batch

Send the batch to the server for further processing.

Rescanning page interface

The rescanning page interface and controls work like those on the Create a batch and submit it for recognition page. You can delete previously scanned documents and scan them again, rescan individual document pages or a whole document, and change page orientation. Within a rescanning task, you can also add any number of new pages and work with them without restrictions.

Reject a task

If necessary, you can reject a task and return it to the server, for example, if the task was assigned to an operator who cannot access the batch’s source pages. After you reject a task, it becomes available to other Scanning Operators, unless it is assigned specifically to you. To reject a task, click the Reject task button on the task toolbar, and then click Yes to confirm. To continue processing the task instead, click No.

Send a task to the Exceptions stage

In exceptional situations, you can send a task to the Exceptions stage. A Senior Verification Operator processes tasks at this stage individually.
1

Click the Exceptions button

Click the Send to Exceptions button on the task toolbar.
2

Enter a reason

Enter the reason for sending the task to the Exceptions stage.
3

Confirm sending the task

Click OK to send the task, or click Cancel to return to processing it.

Postpone a task for further processing

Postponing a task works the same way as saving a batch during the initial scanning. To postpone a task for further processing, click the Postpone task button on the task toolbar. Postponed tasks are unavailable to other Scanning Operators.

Send a task to the server

Sending a task works the same way as sending a batch after scanning. To send a task to the server, click the Send task button on the task toolbar.
