Edit an identifier - ABBYY Documentation

The standard size of an identifier is 46 x 12 mm. Identifier properties do not depend on the form type. Change the properties of an identifier in the Element Properties window in the bottom right corner of the main window. The window is shown only when View → Element Properties is selected.

Element

Property	Description
Type	Identifier.
ID	A unique identifier of the element.

Position and size

Property	Description
Left	Sets the distance between the left edge of the form and the element.
Top	Sets the distance between the top edge of the form and the element.
Width	Sets the width of the identifier.
Height	Sets the height of the identifier.

Identifier

Property	Description
Type	The identifier type: Barcode Only, Barcode with Digits, or Digits Only.
Barcode type	The barcode type (EAN13 or EAN8), available when the type is Barcode Only or Barcode with Digits and Custom value is selected. If Custom value is not selected, this is grayed out and EAN13 is used.
Orientation	The barcode orientation: Horizontal or Vertical.
Value	The identifier value. You can change it only when Custom value is selected. For EAN13, custom values must be exactly 12 digits. For EAN8, they must be exactly 7 digits. Only digits are allowed. A control digit is added at the end of the barcode.
Form identifier	Uses the element as a form identifier.
Page identifier	Uses the element as an identifier for the current page.
Custom value	Allows custom values. Not available for Digits Only identifiers.

If Form identifier or Page identifier is selected, the identifier is assigned a value automatically when the form is published. Before the form is published, it has Draft status and no identifier value is assigned yet.
