How static elements are used
Anchors match the Document Definition to the form image. Identifiers determine which form a page belongs to when several forms are processed in a single flow. For more information, see About machine-readable forms. When a Document Definition is applied to a document image, ABBYY FlexiCapture searches for static elements and selects a Document Definition based on their location. Values of static elements (text and barcode) are recognized only when this is required for identification. For more information, see Specifying identifier values.Static element types
FlexiCapture works with the following types of static element.
FlexiCapture detects anchors automatically when an image is added.
Create a static element manually

Switch to the mode
Switch to static elements mode.

Select the object type
Select the tool for the type of element you want to create.

Mark the region
Use one of the following ways:
- Place the cursor in one corner of the element, and then left-click and drag diagonally to the opposite corner.
- Hold Shift and click in the element region.
Change static element properties

Open the properties
Highlight the element region on the image, right-click, and then select Properties from the shortcut menu.

Change the element properties in the dialog box that opens.
