Highlight an anchor barcode

Switch to the mode

Switch to static elements mode.

Select the object type

Select the anchor barcode tool on the toolbar.

Mark the region

Use one of the following ways:

Position the cursor in one corner of the barcode, and then left-click and drag diagonally to the opposite corner.
Hold Shift and click in the barcode region.

Modify anchor barcode properties

Highlight the barcode, right-click in the region, and then select Properties from the shortcut menu.

Set the options on the General and Recognition tabs.

General tab

Option	Description
Use for Document Definition matching	Enable this option for ABBYY FlexiCapture to use the barcode for Document Definition matching.
Use for Document Definition identification	Enable this option to use the barcode for Document Definition identification.
Value	If you use an anchor barcode as an identifier, you can set its value. To insert a value automatically, click Hint.
Required for Document Definition matching	If this option is selected, the Document Definition is matched only when the barcode is matched. Use this option when the batch contains many very similar Document Definitions that can be distinguished only by their barcode values, or by the value of one of several barcodes. Selecting this option speeds up Document Definition selection. Do not use it if you want the Document Definition to match even when there is no barcode or when the barcode is too faint.

Recognition tab

Option	Description
Code type	Specify the barcode type. This is normally determined automatically.
Orientation	Specify the barcode orientation.

The Recognition tab also includes image processing options.

Option	Description
Invert	Inverts the image.
Remove texture	Removes texture.
Despeckle	Removes garbage from the image.
Clear the garbage of specified size only	Removes garbage of a specified size only. Specify the garbage size. If this option is disabled and only Despeckle is enabled, the garbage size is selected automatically.
