A barcode field captures barcode data from a document. A barcode can be marked as a field or as a static element, depending on how its value is used in the documents you process:
  • To capture the barcode as data, create it in field marking mode.
  • To use the barcode for Document Definition matching or identification, create it in static elements mode.
Barcode properties differ depending on whether the barcode is a field or a static element. This page describes the field properties. For the static-element properties, see Anchor barcode. When you create a barcode field, it is assigned default properties. To change them, right-click and select Properties from the shortcut menu. The properties dialog box has the following tabs:
