Why the overlay helps

Data written into a colored form blank often overlaps the form lines, which worsens recognition quality. Printed data causes this most often, but handwriting can too. Forms like these are usually scanned in drop-out mode, which removes the color lines and field names. The image then holds only the data to be captured. That creates a problem at verification. Without the form blank, the operator cannot tell which field a given piece of data belongs to. The image overlay feature combines the scanned image with the form blank, imitating the filled-in color form for the operator.

Enable image overlay

Image overlay is available only on rich clients. Add the following registry keys to turn it on.
The overlay works on both Data Verification and full Verification stations. With these parameters in place, the operator always sees the filled form overlaid with the blank used in the Document Definition.
