On the Fields tab, you can create skill fields and label documents. You need to label a certain number of documents in order to train and test a skill. Trainable activities, such as Segmentation, Deep Learning, etc., are trained using labeled documents. To test the quality of a skill, the program compares reference labeling to extraction results.

Editing Skills Created in Vantage

If you are editing an extraction skill created and labeled in Vantage, its final field structure and labeling will be displayed in the Fields tab.

Creating Skills in Advanced Designer

If you are creating a skill in Advanced Designer, you will need to label your documents once they have been uploaded, such as specify all fields that need to be extracted, as well as their location on the image. Documents are labeled in the Reference section of the Fields tab. To label your documents, follow the guidelines provided in the Vantage Guide and the labeling guidelines below. You can rearrange and resize the fields on the data form at any time as described in the Vantage documentation.

Predicted Labeling

In the Predicted section, you can view document labeling for a skill after it has been set up and tested. If predicted labeling has already been generated, for example, the skill has been tested, you can create reference labeling based on it. To do this, select the documents for which you want to copy the labeling, and use the Copy Predicted Labeling to Reference context menu command. Labeling can also be copied in the activity editors and on the Documents tab.

Working with Document Sets

You can switch between different document sets by clicking the dropdown menu to the right of the document set name and selecting a document set from the drop-down list. You can also modify document sets using the document’s context menu.

Validation Rules

Advanced Designer allows you to add and edit rules with business logic to a Document skill. These rules may compare field values, check a condition when a field is filled in, or change the values of some fields. You can add and edit rules in the same way as in Vantage. For details, see Skill Designer Guide, Rule verification. In Advanced Designer, rules are configured in the Reference section of the Fields tab. To create a rule, click the New Rule button. In the dialog box that will open, a list of all existing Vantage rules will be displayed. Select the type of rule and the fields that should be checked. You can edit or delete rules by clicking the more options button next to the selected rule. Rules created in Advanced Designer and Vantage are synchronized. If synchronization with the local folder is enabled for a skill, rules are also stored and synchronized with the skill. Rules can be used to check the correctness of both the predicted labeling and the reference labeling.
