Typically, you will want to enable Online learning for skills that deliver unsatisfactory classification or field extraction results. Online learning will improve the accuracy of a skill but will also slow down document processing. You can enable the Online learning feature when setting up a new Process skill. Online learning is enabled separately for Classification skills and for Document skills. As Online learning uses feedback from human verifiers, you won’t be able to turn on the feature unless your Process skill includes a Manual Review activity. To enable Online learning, select the skill that you think will benefit from this feature and then turn on the Collect documents and learn option in the Actions pane or in the skill preview pane.
Note: Online Learning is not available for skills intended for processing structured documents. The Collect documents and learn option will be disabled for such skills. Documents will still be collected, but no Online Learning will occur.

Note: If you are using the same skill in multiple Process skills and want to enable Online learning for that skill, you may want to turn on the Collect documents and learn toggle for each of your Process skills, so that your skill can benefit from Online learning no matter which Process skill is currently active.
After Online learning is enabled and human verifiers start making corrections at the manual review stage, the program will start accumulating documents in the training set used for the skill. Online ML results are included in the statistics for the corresponding skill displayed in the Results tab in either the Classification Skill Editor or the Document Skill Editor. If necessary, you can also review the accumulated documents in the Skill Editor.
