Skip to main contentA checkmark group is a single data field that contains several checkmarks. It usually means one multiple choice question and may allow several answers to be selected at the same time. Note that a group of checkmark fields is not the same as a checkmark group.
You can add a checkmark group field by doing one of the following:
- Add a field region to the image by drawing a rectangular area that includes several checkmarks. This works only for checkmarks with a square frame. Your new field will appear on the data form. The group, and each of the checkmarks in it, will be automatically assigned a generic name. Modify it by double-clicking the name on the data form or by navigating to the field options by clicking Field options.
- Add a new field to the data form by clicking the Add Checkmark Group icon on the toolbar, and then specifying a region for the field by drawing a rectangular area that contains several checkmarks. You can also add checkmarks to the group one by one by clicking Add Checkmark, then left-clicking the checkmark area.
General properties of the Checkmark Group field
- Field name. The unique name of the field in a particular skill. The field name cannot contain special symbols like full stops, commas, slashes, colons, asterisks, question marks, quotation marks, less-than signs, greater-than signs, or vertical bars. The maximum allowed length of a field name is 90 symbols.
- Required field. Specifies that at least one of the checkmarks of the field should be checked. Enabling this property adds a validation rule to the page. If the field is empty after extraction, the document will be sent to manual review with an error.
Optional properties of the Checkmark Group field
All checkmarks of the group must be of the same type, so the same properties apply to all of them.
- Square. Specifies the checkmark type. Select this type for checkmarks placed in bounded square regions.
- Without frame. Specifies the checkmark type. Select this type for checkmarks placed on a white unbounded region.
- Allow corrections. Select this option if you want to allow checkmark correction. Selecting this option will detect all fully colored-in checkmarks to be unmarked. This property works only for checkmarks of the Square type.
- Allow multiple selection. Select this option if you want to allow several checkmarks to be marked at the same time.
- Max selected allowed. Available only if the Allow multiple selection option is chosen. Specifies how many checkmarks may be marked in the group. If there are more marked checkmarks than this property allows, the document will be sent to manual review with an error.
