When configuring Web Verification Station and Web Capture Station custom roles, you cannot restrict an Operator’s access to operations on data or on tasks. Only the standard Operator roles can be configured for these stations: Data Verification Operator, Verification Operator, and Senior Verification Operator.
Create a custom role
You create and set up a new role on the User Roles tab of the Project Properties dialog box (click Project → Project Properties…). Roles created on that tab are then assigned to Operators in the Administration and Monitoring Console. On the User Roles tab, manage roles with the following buttons:- New… – Create a role.
- Duplicate… – Create a new role from an existing one.
- Edit… – Modify an existing role. This opens the Role properties dialog box.
- Delete – Delete a role.
You cannot modify the standard Operator roles: Data Verification Operator, Verification Operator, and Senior Verification Operator.
Create a role from stage properties
You can also create a new role while editing the properties of a stage that will be accessible to that role. Create the role on the Roles tab of the Workflow Stage Properties dialog box.1
Open the batch type properties
For batches of the Default type, click Project → Project Properties… For other batch types, click Project → Batch Types… and select the batch type to modify.

Open the stage properties
Click the Workflow tab. When using the Advanced or Advanced for Web Capture station processing schema, create an interactive stage or select an existing one, and click Edit….

Create the role
In the Workflow Stage Properties dialog box, click the Roles tab and create the new role.

Select the accessible stages
Select the items next to the stages you want to make accessible to the role. To make all stages of a particular batch type accessible, select the item next to that batch type. Click Select/deselect all stages to select or clear all stages.

Save the changes
Click OK to save the changes and return to the Role properties dialog box.

Grant stage access on the Roles tab
A role restricts the set of processing stages from which its Operators receive tasks. For this reason, you can also grant access permissions to a specific processing stage on the Roles tab of the Workflow Stage Properties dialog box.1
