You can select the processing options for individual batches immediately before you start a processing stage. Processing a batch of documents involves the following basic steps.

Scan

To start scanning, click Scan on the toolbar. The Scanning Station uses the last scanner source. To choose a different source, click the arrow to the right. For more information, see Scan images.
The scanner must be connected to your computer. For directions on connecting the scanner, refer to the scanner’s documentation. If no scanner is connected, you can only use a virtual scanner to import images from a folder.

Separate documents and batches

You may need to place some scanned pages into different documents or batches in the Batches window or the image window. For more information, see Work with documents, batches, and pages.

Edit images

The Scanning Station includes tools to rotate images, correct skew, remove noise, and apply other enhancements before export. For more information, see Image enhancement.

Export the scanned documents

When you finish working with a batch, save it to a local folder or an FTP folder, export it to ABBYY FlexiCapture, or export it with a script. To choose a destination, click the arrow next to Send To, select a destination, and click OK. For more information, see Export batches.
