Value range constraints for text data type

In the Validation Settings dialog box, you can set value range constraints for text entered in the field.

FlexiCapture treats as text not only data types with Text content, but also data types with other content for which the Process value as text option is selected.

Option	Description
Maximum length	Specify the maximum length of text in the field.
Content constraint: Regular expression	Select Regular expression in the Content constraint field to check field values against a regular expression. Use the builder button to the right of the field. For more information, see Alphabet used in regular expressions. In the Regular expression description field, provide a description that appears in error messages.
Content constraint: Allowed values	Select Allowed values in the Content constraint field to specify a list of allowed values. Click Add to add a value, Edit to change one, Delete to remove one, or Load to load values from a file.
Use external source of allowed values	Check recognized values against a list in an external text file, database, or data set. Click Edit to specify the source. The list is not copied to the project; the external source is queried during the check.
Treat validation error as warning	Treat any non-compliance as a warning. Warnings do not prevent the Operator from sending documents to the next stage, but uncorrected format errors require an additional confirmation before sending.

Load allowed values from a file

The following characters can be used as value delimiters in loaded files: comma (,), period (.), semicolon (;), colon (:), exclamation point (!), question mark (?), equal sign (=), parentheses, slash (/), pilcrow (¶), and space. If an allowed value contains several words, replace the spaces between them with %0020.
If several files containing identical lines are loaded consecutively, allowed values are not duplicated.
When a list of allowed values is loaded from a rule, a repeat check is carried out after local edits are applied.
When you enter a value in a data form field, suggestions in the dropdown list appear in this order: first the values matching the characters you entered (incremental filtering), then the remaining values in alphabetical order. Incremental filtering works only when values are entered into a field; selecting a text fragment does not count as editing.
