Note: Read-only skills can’t be edited directly. However, for a read-only Document skill, you can derive a skill and edit the derived skill. Read-only Classification, OCR, and Process skills can be duplicated, and these duplicates can then be edited. Read-only Splitter skills can be edited in Advanced Designer.
The name of the user currently editing a skill will be displayed in the Catalog alongside the skill’s name. Only one user can edit the skill at a time. If a skill is currently being edited, its most recently published version can still be used by other users. To edit a skill, use the Skill Designer to open the skill by doing one of the following:
  • Select the skill by left-clicking it and then click the Edit skill icon in the Skill Catalog toolbar.
  • Click the skill name.
For more information about managing skills, see the Skill Designer documentation. You can use Discard changes to cancel any pending changes to a skill. Once the changes have been discarded, the most recently published version of the skill will remain in the Skill Catalog. If the skill has not been published yet, discarding any pending changes to it will remove it from the Catalog completely. To cancel the pending changes, select the skill in the Skill Catalog by left-clicking it and click Discard changes in the toolbar. Once you have finished editing the skill, publish it.
Note: The availability of this feature depends on the user’s role. For more information about roles, see Role-Based Access Control.
