Verification checks that the data has been recognized, that pages have been assembled into documents correctly, and that rules returned no errors. (Standalone) Verification is done on the Operator Station. (Distributed) Verification is done on the Data Verification Station, where recognition accuracy is verified, and on the Verification Station, where all types of checks can be performed. Verification is performed for tasks.

Start verification

(Distributed) Verification starts after a task arrives at the station. (Standalone) To start verification, click Run Verification…. Group verification comes first, followed by field verification. If a Document Definition contains no fields included in group or field verification, that stage is skipped.

Document assembly

When you create a Document Definition, configure the document assembly rule: the sequence and number of page repetitions. You can also base assembly verification on the values of key fields, in which case the key field values must be identical on all pages of the document. Pages are assembled into documents automatically during recognition. During verification, correct any document assembly errors in multipage documents. Documents with assembly errors are marked with the assembly error icon Assembly error icon, and a description of the error appears in red below the name of the Document Definition. If the values of key fields do not match, a message appears and the values are highlighted in red. Assembly errors are easiest to correct in page outline mode, which gives a clear view of the page images and the documents they belong to.

Group verification

Groups of identically recognized characters are submitted for verification. The Operator identifies characters that were recognized incorrectly and corrects their values after viewing the image of the field that contains the character. If a character cannot be corrected, mark it as questionable.

Field verification

Fields with a known range of values are submitted for verification. The Operator checks uncertainly recognized characters within the context of the entire field. Field verification has two modes: a single-field view with character cuttings, and a multiple same-type field view.

Document window

The document window opens when you double-click the name of a document or page. It does not display separate fields, only the entire document, and it shows all uncertainly recognized characters, rule errors, and so on.

Rules and format errors

Unfulfilled rules and format errors that affect one field are flagged with a yellow warning flag Yellow warning flag icon or a red error flag Red error flag icon. Warnings and errors from rules that affect several fields are flagged with the Multi-field warning flag icon and Multi-field error flag icon icons. The Operator checks fields with errors and corrects their values where possible. Documents with errors can be verified later by comparing them with hardcopy documents or other available sources. (Distributed) If a field with an error is hidden at this processing stage, the document that contains the hidden field is flagged with a gray flag icon Gray hidden-error flag icon. (Standalone) To verify rule errors, click the arrow to the right of the button and select Recheck Rules. When corrected field values satisfy the rules, the flags are removed. The Field not applied icon icon indicates fields from FlexiLayouts that could not be applied. The Operator can manually specify regions for such fields on the document image.
