Operators use a preconfigured program. Document processing includes the following stages.

Adding images Document processing starts with acquiring images, either by scanning or by loading them automatically with import profiles (for example, Hot Folders). Scanning is performed by the Scanning Station Operator. Automatic loading is performed by the Processing Stations.
Recognition Recognition is carried out automatically on the Processing Station. The program selects the appropriate Document Definition based on the positions of the static elements, applies it, and recognizes the data in the fields specified in the Document Definition.
Verification Verification, the process of checking data, is the most labor-intensive part of the Operator’s work. It comprises:
- Verification of document assembly checks whether document pages have been assembled correctly. For more information, see Assemble documents.
- Group verification is a visual check on groups of identically recognized characters.
- Field verification checks uncertainly recognized characters within the context of fields with a known range of values.
- Rule validation checks for rule errors.
- Batch integrity check runs the integrity scripts and corrects any errors.
Documents can be verified on two stations. Basic verification is done on the Data Verification Station, where only group and field verification modes are available. More complex verification is performed on the Verification Station, where, besides data verification, the Verification Operator and the Senior Verification Operator can check document assembly, correct rule errors, and perform batch integrity checks.
Data export Data is exported automatically on the Processing Station according to the settings in the Document Definition. A batch is exported either immediately after processing or after the Senior Verification Operator confirms it (the Administrator makes the corresponding settings).

Operators use a program that is preconfigured for processing certain types of document. Document processing is the same for all document types and includes the following stages.

Adding images Adding document page images is easiest after you configure import profiles. You can also add images by scanning or by loading them from files.
Starting the recognition process Recognition is an automatic process. The program identifies the Document Definition based on the location of static elements preconfigured in the Definitions, applies it, and recognizes data in the fields specified in the Document Definition. Before starting recognition, you can analyze documents or their pages and apply the relevant Document Definition to the image.
Verification Verification, the process of checking data, is the most labor-intensive part of the Operator’s work. It comprises:
- Verification of document assembly checks whether document pages have been assembled correctly. For more information, see Assemble documents.
- Group verification is a visual check on groups of identically recognized characters.
- Field verification checks uncertainly recognized characters within the context of fields with a known range of values.
- Verification in the document window checks for errors in the Document Editor window, including rule validation.
Data export Export runs with a single click according to the export settings configured in the Document Definition. You can also export data to a file or database without using a Document Definition’s export settings. To delete documents automatically after export, select Delete documents after export on the Export Destinations tab of the Project → Project Properties… menu.

For documents to be processed automatically, use the following settings:

Create an import profile to import images automatically.
Select Recognize added images automatically on the Document Processing tab of the Tools → Options… menu.
On the Workflow tab of the Batch Type Properties dialog box, select Skip verification and data verification if percentage of characters that need verification is equal or less than.
On the Export Destinations tab of the Document Definition properties, select Enable auto export to export documents automatically.
Select Delete documents after export to delete documents automatically after export.
