- Automatic – Tasks of this type run on a Processing Station without Operator intervention. The Automatic stage includes these substages: Scanning, Recognition, Unattended processing, and Export.
- Interactive – Tasks of this type are processed by Operators working on a Verification Station, Data Verification Station, or Scanning Station. The Interactive stage includes these substages: Data verification, Document assembly check, Verification, Batch integrity check, and Export confirmation.
- User Type – Tasks of this type are taken, executed, and sent to the next stage by external clients via the Web Services API.
Add a processing script to the schema
A processing script runs on an Automatic stage.1
Select the Automatic stage
In the Create Processing Stage dialog box, select the Automatic stage.

Select the base stage and confirm
Select the base stage you want to use for the new stage, and click OK.

- Field Set (Data verification and Verification stages only)
- Script (Automatic stage only)
- Exit Routes (all stages except Exceptions, Rescanning, and Processed)
- Entry Conditions (all stages except Exceptions and Processed)
- Roles (stages based on custom Stage tools)
