To create a custom processing stage, switch to Advanced mode when setting up a workflow, and then click Stage… on the right. The Create Processing Stage dialog box opens with a list of base stages and previously created custom stages. You can use an existing stage as the basis for a new one. When you select a stage in the list, its properties appear at the bottom of the dialog box, under Selected Settings. Three types of stage are available in Advanced mode:
  • Automatic – Tasks of this type run on a Processing Station without Operator intervention. The Automatic stage includes these substages: Scanning, Recognition, Unattended processing, and Export.
  • Interactive – Tasks of this type are processed by Operators working on a Verification Station, Data Verification Station, or Scanning Station. The Interactive stage includes these substages: Data verification, Document assembly check, Verification, Batch integrity check, and Export confirmation.
  • User Type – Tasks of this type are taken, executed, and sent to the next stage by external clients via the Web Services API.

Add a processing script to the schema

A processing script runs on an Automatic stage.

Select the Automatic stage

In the Create Processing Stage dialog box, select the Automatic stage.

Select the base stage and confirm

Select the base stage you want to use for the new stage, and click OK.
The Workflow Stage Properties dialog box opens with the following tabs:
  • General
  • Field Set (Data verification and Verification stages only)
  • Script (Automatic stage only)
  • Exit Routes (all stages except Exceptions, Rescanning, and Processed)
  • Entry Conditions (all stages except Exceptions and Processed)
  • Roles (stages based on custom Stage tools)
The options available on each tab depend on which stage is selected. For more information, see Workflow Stage Properties dialog box. When a task is completed at one stage, ABBYY FlexiCapture selects the appropriate next stage by computing the entry conditions for subsequent stages.

Check classification without verifying data

During verification, you can check the classification and document assembly results without verifying the data. To do this, create a Verification stage, click the Field Set tab, and make sure the Selected fields column is empty. If at least one field is selected, its data is displayed on the data form awaiting verification.
