Set up the scanner

Configure the scan settings

Set the scanner, paper, and multi-page scanning options.

Preview the page

To scan and preview a page, click Preview. When the scanning process ends, the image of the scanned page appears in the window above the Preview button. Adjust the selected values, if required.

Return to the scanner profile

Click Close to return to the scanner profile properties.

The Preview feature is not available on ISIS scanners.

Scanner settings

Option	Description
Resolution	Sets the resolution of scanned images. Select higher resolutions for texts printed in small fonts.
Color mode	Selects a color mode for scanning images. Gray mode is best for OCR.
Compression	Selects compression for scanned images.
Rotation	Rotates images.
Color dropout	Removes a specific color from scanned images. Select Red, Green, Blue, or None from the drop-down list. Selecting None retains all colors.
Brightness	Selects between automatic and manual brightness adjustment. To change the brightness, move the slider below the drop-down list.

Paper size	Selects the paper size. Note: If none of the suggested paper sizes suits your needs, create a custom paper size: select Custom… from the list and, in the Custom Paper Size dialog box, specify the required paper height and width.

Duplex scanning	Select this option for duplex scanning.
Pause for N seconds after each page	Select this option to pause scanning after each page. Type the time interval in seconds.
