- Assign it to a batch type in the Scanning Station, on the Image Processing tab of the Batch Type Properties dialog box.
- Apply it automatically when loading input images, on the Image Processing tab of Tools → Options….
- Assign it to a batch type or an import profile in the Project Setup Station.
- Photo – Preset editing settings for photos of documents.
- Scan – Preset editing settings for scanned documents.
Apply a profile to selected pages

Select the pages
In the batch window, select the page you want. To apply the profile to several pages, select them with Shift or Ctrl. Unselected pages remain unchanged.

Apply the profile
On the image enhancement panel, select a profile in the Processing profile drop-down menu, then select Apply Processing Profile on the Page menu or the page’s context menu.
Create a custom image enhancement profile
You create image enhancement profiles in the Scanning Station or the Project Setup Station. In the Scanning Station, use the image enhancement panel or the Processing Profiles dialog box (Tools → Processing Profiles…), which also lets you edit existing profiles.1
Create a set of editing tools
Use the image enhancement panel to create a set of editing tools.

Open the profile creation window
Click the add button (+) to the right of the Processing profile drop-down list. The image window enters a mode that lets you preview editing results to test the profile.

Add one-time actions (optional)
To apply one-time actions to the image flow automatically, add them from the list in the profile creation window:
- Split – Splits an image horizontally or vertically into the selected number of pages. Make sure the documents on all images are placed evenly.
- Resolution – Changes the resolution of an image.
- Rotate – Rotates an image.
- Flip – Flips an image horizontally or vertically.
- Invert Colors – Inverts the colors of an image with light text on a dark background.

Name and save the profile
Enter a name in the Edit profile name field and click OK.
Edit a custom profile
Select a custom profile in the Processing profile drop-down menu and click the edit button (a pencil) to the right of the list.Create a profile from an existing one
By default, profiles cannot be edited. To reuse a profile’s settings, base a new profile on an existing one.1

In the Processing profile drop-down menu, select one of the existing profiles.

Click the add button (+) to the right of the Processing profile drop-down list, then follow the steps for creating a profile.
Import and export image enhancement profiles
You can export custom profiles to use them in the Project Setup Station or on other Scanning Stations. A profile is exported to an XML file.1
Open the Processing Profiles dialog box
Select Tools → Processing Profiles….

Export the profile
Select the profile in the list and click Export….

Choose a location
Select where to save the profile: locally or on a server.

Save
Enter the path and click OK.
- Project Setup Station – Open the Project Properties dialog box and go to Image Enhancement Profiles.
- Another Scanning Station – In the Processing Profiles dialog box, click Import.
