Scanning Station takes batches through four stages. This page is the high-level overview — for a full reference, see Processing steps in detail.
1

Scan

Click Scan Pages on the main window toolbar. To pick a different scanner, click the arrow next to the button. For details, see Scanning images.
The scanner must be connected to your computer — see the scanner’s documentation. Without a physical scanner, you can still use the virtual scanner to import images from a folder.
2

Separate documents and batches

Scanned pages sometimes need to be separated into different documents or batches. Do this in the Batches pane or the image pane. For details, see Working with batches, documents, and pages.
3

Edit images

Use the Scanning Station’s image tools to rotate, deskew, denoise, and otherwise clean up pages before export. For details, see Editing images.
4

Export

When the batch is ready:
  1. Click the arrow next to Send to Vantage and choose Export Options….
  2. In the Send to ABBYY Vantage dialog, enter the server address under Server. Under Skill, pick the skill that should process the documents.
  3. Click OK.
If the batch type requires integrity checks, the batch must meet those requirements before it can be exported. See Checking batch integrity and Exporting batches.
